Cuba reported 77 new cases of COVID 19, 67 discharged and no deaths



HAVANA, Cuba, May 8 (ACN) Cuba studied a total of 5,485 samples for surveillance during the day, 77 were positive for 1.4% positivity. The country accumulates 13,756,473 samples taken and 1,104,057 positive (8.0%).

At the end of May 8, a total of 2,368 patients had been admitted, 1,769 suspected, 24 under surveillance and 575 confirmed active.

Of the total number of cases,67 were contacts of confirmed cases, 5 with source of infection abroad and 5 with no source of infection specified. There were 67 medical discharges, accumulating 1,094,896 (99.2%) and there were no deaths. Six confirmed patients are being treated in ICUs, of which four are critical and two serious.

Among the 77 positive cases, 7.8% (6) were asymptomatic, totaling 146,871, representing 13.3% of those confirmed to date. The diagnosed cases belong to the following age groups: under 20 years of age (39), 20 to 39 (15), 40 to 59 (9), and 60 and over (14).
