Cuba reported 2,685 new cases of COVID 19, 1,541 discharges and one death

HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 11 (ACN) Cuba studied a total of 35,815 samples for surveillance during the day, 2,685 of which were positive. The country accumulates 12, 002,043 samples taken and 982,614 positive.

At the end of January 10, 21,626 patients were admitted, 10,293 suspected, 197 under surveillance and 11,136 confirmed active.

Of the total number of cases, 2,492 were contacts of confirmed cases; 85 with source of infection abroad and 108 without source of infection specified. There were 1,541 medical discharges, accumulating 963,091 recovered patients (98.0%) and one person died. Thirty-one confirmed patients are being treated in ICUs, 3 of them critical and 28 serious.

Among the 2,685 positive cases, 14.4% (387) were asymptomatic, accumulating a total of 136,746, representing 13.9% of those confirmed to date. The diagnosed cases belong to the following age groups: under 20 years of age (531), 20 to 39 (906), 40 to 59 (787), and over 60 (461).
