Cuba reported 673 new cases of COVID 19, 389 discharges and no deaths



HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 4 (ACN) Cuba studied a total of 18,310 samples for surveillance during the day, resulting positive 673. The country accumulates 11, 749,504 samples taken and 968,171 were positive.

At the end of January 3, 7,536 patients were admitted, 4,648 suspected, 513 under surveillance and 2,375 confirmed active.

Of the total number of cases, 538 were contacts of confirmed cases; 118 with source of infection abroad and 17 with no source of infection determined. There were 389 medical discharges, accumulating 957,415 recovered patients (98.9%) and there were no deaths. Twenty-five confirmed patients are being treated in ICUs, 4 of them critical and 21 serious.

Among the 673 positive cases, 27.0% (181) were asymptomatic, totaling 134,129, which represent 13.8% of those confirmed to date. The diagnosed cases belong to the following age groups: under 20 years of age (115), 20 to 39 (273), 40 to 59 (177), 60 and over (108).
