MATANZAS, Cuba, Dec 28 (ACN) Matanzas extends from today the booster vaccination with the Cuban vaccine Abdala to the population that includes pregnant women, puerperal women and lactating mothers over 18 years of age, as reported to the Cuban News Agency, Lissy Vega Rodriguez, head of the immunization process in the province.
Pregnant, puerperal and breastfeeding women over 18 years of age who completed the vaccination scheme in a three-month period or more and those convalescing from COVID-19 who received a dose of Soberana Plus more than six months ago are included in the population sector to be vaccinated.
Vega Rodriguez highlighted as positive the incorporation of this group to the booster inoculation with the aim of increasing herd immunity and advancing in the completion of vaccination in the province.
Regarding the Soberana Plus vaccination of convalescents in pediatric ages, this is already at 98 %, with only 248 minors pending while 96 % of the general population of Matanzas completed the vaccination scheme, the doctor concluded.
