HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 20 (ACN) A total of 9,494,597 people have already completed the COVID-19 immunization program in Cuba, which represents 97 % of the country's vaccine-eligible population.
This was reported today in a televised presentation by the national director of epidemiology, Dr. Francisco Duran Garcia, adding that 846,248 persons have already received booster doses.
As part of this vaccination scheme with the national drugs Soberana 02, Soberana Plus and Abdala, 10, 313,482 people have received at least one dose; of these, 9,282,534 received a second dose and 8,887,771 received a third one.
Statistics from the ministry of public health indicate that up to December 18, 29, 330,035 doses of the anti-COVID-19 immunogens developed in the country have been administered in Cuba.
According to Duran Garcia, vaccination is very important because it contributes to prevent people who acquire the disease from evolving to serious and critical stages of the disease
