HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 20 (ACN) Cuba studied a total of 15,882 samples for surveillance during the day, resulting in 79 positive (0.5% positivity). The country accumulates 11, 467,928 samples taken and 964,176 were positive.
At the end of December 19, 2,376 patients were admitted, 1,824 suspected, 210 under surveillance and 342 confirmed active.
Of the total number of cases, 56 were contacts of confirmed cases; 20 with a source of infection abroad and 3 with no source of infection determined. There were 94 discharges, accumulating 955,462 patients recovered (99.1%) and one person died. A total of 15 confirmed patients are being treated in ICUs, including 3 in critical and 12 in serious condition.
Among the 79 positive cases, 43.0% (34) were asymptomatic, accumulating a total of 132,945, representing 13.8% of those confirmed to date, and the diagnosed cases belong to the following age groups: under 20 years of age (6), 20 to 39 (24), 40 to 59 (33), and over 60 (16).
