HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 17 (ACN) Cuba studied a total of 18,499 samples for surveillance during the day, resulting in 73 positive. The country accumulates 11, 414,517 samples taken and 963,958 positive.
At the end of December 16, a total of 2,477 patients had been admitted, 1,876 suspected, 272 under surveillance and 329 confirmed active.
Of the total number of cases, 59 were contacts of confirmed cases; 9 with source of infection abroad and 5 with no source of infection determined. There were 60 medical discharges, accumulating 955,259 patients recovered (99.1%) and there were no deaths. Twelve confirmed patients are being treated in ICUs, 4 of them critical and 8 serious.
Among the 73 positive cases, 13.7% (10) were asymptomatic, totaling 132,875, which represents 13.8% of those confirmed to date. The diagnosed cases belong to the following age groups: under 20 years of age (14), 20 to 39 (14), 40 to 59 (26), 60 and over (19).
