HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 10 (ACN) More than 1,631,000 infants have received the complete anti-COVID-19 vaccination scheme, the Cuban ministry of public health (MINSAP by its Spanish acronym) reported today on Twitter.
The MINSAP said that despite the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba, we are the only country that has been able to massively vaccinate its children over 2 years of age.
Cuba is the first country in the world to undertake a massive vaccination campaign against COVID-19 in children from 2 to 11 years of age using its own vaccines.
Recently, the Center for State Control of Medicines, Equipment and Medical Devices (CECMED by its Spanish acronym) approved the emergency use of the Cuban vaccine SoberanaPlus, for the pediatric population over 2 years of age convalescing from COVID-19.
