HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 10 (ACN) With the aim of expanding medical collaboration between Cuba and the Maldives, both nations signed today a cooperation agreement that will also strengthen the ties between their health systems.
According to the website of the Cuban ministry of public health ( MINSAP by its Spanish acronym), the new collaboration agreement will allow the sending of a Cuban medical brigade to the islands (located in the Indian Ocean) to contribute to the health of its population.
The Cuban health entity emphasizes that the Maldives delegation for the signing of the agreement was headed by Dr. Shah Abdulla Mahir, minister of state for health of that nation.
The visitors, including Safiyya Mohamed, deputy minister of health, and the minister's assistant, were interested in the Cuban national health system.
