COVID-19 in Cuba: 78 new cases, 145 discharges and no deaths

HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 8 (ACN) Cuba reported today 78 new COVID-19 cases, 786 medical discharges and no fatalities.

Up until yesterday, 407 people remain hospitalized, with 9 and 7 of them in critical and serious condition, respectively, according to the daily report of the Ministry of Public Health.

At the close of yesterday, December 7, 2,904 patients had been admitted and 2,359 were suspected cases, whereas 138 were under surveillance and 407 were confirmed cases.

A total of 17,448 samples were taken during the day, and 78 tested positive. Cuba has taken 11,250,174 samples, and 963,347 have been confirmed as positive.

Of the 78 positive cases, 17.9% (14) were asymptomatic, making a total of 132,704 cases (13.8% of those confirmed to date).
