HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 2 (ACN) The X Symposium “Oral Health Vision” and the IX Workshop “Oral Cancer 2021” (EstomatoVisión 2021) is being held since Wednesday and will continue until December 23 with the participation of renowned experts from several countries.
Sponsored by the Cuban Society of Stomatological Sciences, the event aims to promote the exchange of knowledge and debates on health and biomedical topics for the benefit of people’s oral health.
Attending the scientific meeting are stomatologists, university graduates, technicians and other professionals who work on or contribute to oral health, regardless of their organization or institution.
The main topics revolve around Global Oral Health; Prevention of Oral Conditions; Oral Health Management and Professional Practice in times of COVID-19; Prevention of Oral Conditions, and Health Promotion.
The scientific agenda covers topics like: New concepts and technologies for the treatment of oral problems; COVID-19 and its impact on oral health; Distance capacity building and education; Complementary treatments and Current information about oral cancer updates.
Sc. D. Estela de los Ángeles Gispert Abreu, professor at the National School of Public Health and president of the Cuban Society of Stomatology, said that there will be lectures by experts from Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Venezuela, Italy and Cuba, among others.
Cuba has a National Program for Integrated Stomatological Care and other national regulations intended to guarantee the continual improvement of people’s oral health and to promote community and cross-sectional participation in primary health care.
