HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 22 (ACN) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez wrote today on Twitter that the health workers and diplomats from the Island currently based in St. Vincent and the Grenadines are proving their altruism, dedication and boundless commitment.
A brigade of the Henry Reeve Medical Contingent joined the Cuban doctors already working in St. Vincent and The Grenadines.
On Wednesday, six Cuban medical specialists arrived in St. Vincent and the Grenadines in the wake of the national emergency decreed by the Vincentian government following the eruption, on April 9 of the La Soufrière volcano. They include a surgeon, a caumatologist, an orthopedist, a pediatrician, a pulmonologist and an obstetrician-gynecologist, who join the 44 Cuban health professionals currently deployed in that country.
