HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 9 (ACN) Cuba broke a record in the number of PCR tests for one day with 20,578 samples analyzed in the country's laboratories, said today on Twitter the Cuban president, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez.
In the message shared on the social media, the Cuban leader said that the Temporary Working Group for the Prevention and Control of COVID-19, which he heads, continues reviewing every afternoon the situation of the pandemic in the country.
Diaz-Canel warned that the vigilance cannot be reduced, and also pointed out that in the last day the provinces of Pinar del Rio, Mayabeque, Sancti Spiritus and Granma were alerted due to the increase of positive cases of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.
According to figures provided by the Cuban Ministry of Public Health, the country registered 2,540,022 samples tested and 56,566 positive.
Of the total number of patients diagnosed with the disease, as of March 7, 4,451 remained hospitalized, 4,382 of them with stable clinical evolution; 350 total deaths have been reported and a total of 51,709 patients have recovered.
