HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 5(ACN) Cuba studied for COVID-19, 18,017 samples resulting in 845 positive ones. The country accumulates 1,976,118 samples taken and 31,190 positive.
At the close of February 4, 14,004 patients were admitted for clinical epidemiological surveillance, 3,100 suspected, 5,360 under surveillance and 5,544 active.
Out of the total number of cases, 787 were contacts of confirmed cases; 26 with source of infection abroad and 32 with no source of infection specified. A total of 896 patients were discharged, resulting in 25,364 patients recovered (81.3%) and there were 4 deaths. Sixty-three confirmed patients are being treated in ICU, of whom 29 are in critical and 34 in severe condition.
Among the positive cases, 40 are associated with international travelers and 45% (380) were asymptomatic, totaling 17,214, which represents 55.2% of those confirmed to date.
