HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 17 (ACN) Specialists, researchers and executives of the health systems of Cuba and Uzbekistan debated, through a videoconference held between Havana-Baku-Tashkent, on the Cuban drugs used in the protocols against the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.
With the presence of Abdulla Azizov, Uzbek Deputy Minister of Health, the experts from both nations valued the Biomodulin T, a biological immunomodulator of natural origin produced by the Cuban company BIOCEN for the treatment of respiratory conditions in the elderly due to COVID- 19, reports Cubaminrex website.
There were also analyzed other drugs such as the recombinant interferon Alpha 2B (Heberon), the CIGB-258 peptide (Jusvinza) and the Alpha 2B plus gamma (Heberferon), also produced by the BioCubaFarma business group.
The videoconference, which lasted more than three hours, featured the experience of Dr. Dalsy Torres, who leads a Cuban medical brigade in Azerbaijan that is treating patients with COVID-19.
The Uzbek experts considered the Cuban presentation very valuable and showed interest in deepening the collaboration between both nations in the field of health and drugs.
The Uzbekistan Ministry of Health reported today a total of 49,162 cases of the disease in its country, with 45,474 recovered patients and 409 deaths.
