HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 10 (ACN) Cuba is participating in the virtual event on technologies and new normality, hosted by the Latin American and Caribbean Internet Governance Forum, which ends Thursday, after two days of discussions on the importance of information technology and communications during pandemic times.
Issues such as digital transformation and the acceleration of the use of new technologies in a post-COVID-19 world were addressed at the meeting, which was attended by seven representatives from the island, members of the Cuban Union of Computer Scientists (UIC) and other civil society organizations.
Yarina Amoroso, president of the Cuban Society of Law and Informatics of the Union of Jurists of Cuba, emphasized the training efforts, which have resulted in the confrontation with the pandemic.
New technologies have shown the importance of keeping society's processes active, the specialist pointed out.
In Cuba, due to the emergency context caused by the COVID-19, thousands of Cubans have adopted teleworking as a way to fulfill their physical isolation without stopping their work.
