HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 24 (ACN) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez congratulated the creators, technicians and workers of the Cuban Film Institute (ICAIC) on the 65th anniversary of its founding.
In a message posted on X, the Head of State referred to ICAIC, the first cultural institution established by the Cuban Revolution, as "a champion and protector of the best of Latin American and universal cinema".
As part of the celebrations, ICAIC organized the event “Fiesta for Cuban Cinema”, which includes the premiere of 67 Cuban movies, documentaries and animated films, as well as the screening of 40 other works, 22 of them restored.
Other cultural institutions such as the Cuban Book Institute, the National Ballet of Cuba, the National Folkloric Ensemble, and the Litz Alfonso Ballet have also joined the celebration.
