MATANZAS, Cuba, Dec 20 (ACN) The Cuba-Russia Creative Writing Contest, proposed by the University of Matanzas (UM) and the Moscow Linguistic University, encourages reading and writing among people in the 16 to 35 age group.
The participants, be they university students or not, should submit original unpublished narrative texts on any topic and in their native language, which will be evaluated by a panel of expert judges—in both Cuba and Russia—who will give a single prize consisting of the publication of the winning book, whereas the finalist texts will be translated into either language by the Moscow Linguistic University.
According to Carlos Chacón, main coordinator of the Pablo Neruda Literary Creation Workshop, the event will contribute to the emergence of exchange platforms and meetings of creators, as well as to socialize their work.
