HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 13 (acn) Representatives of Cuban Tourism Ministry and Havanatur travel agency flew to Guatemala to consider the reactivation of direct flights between Havana and Guatemala City.
A report by PL news agency cites Guatemalan Tourism director, Jorge Mario Cajon, as saying that the Cuban representatives will take a look at main destinations in the central American nation and if possible they will sign an agreement to reestablish at least one direct flight to Cuba.
The Guatemalan official said that he proposed Havanatur director, Victor Veloso, to talk with TAG and VECA airline companies and see if they are interested in opening the new route.
In an effort to encourage bilateral trade and investments in Cuba, Guatemalan foreign minister Carlos Raul Morales and Economy minister Ruben Morales will pay a visit to Cuba over the next few months.
