HAVANA, Cuba, Jul 8 (acn) The Cuban Parliament´s ten permanent commissions will meet Saturday through Monday at Havana´s Conventions Hall to analyze a large agenda previous to the 5th Parliament Session scheduled for Wednesday, July 15.
Many of the issues to be considered have been followed up since previous meetings, while others are related to control and auditing actions in different entities, and the performance of parliamentarians this year.
According to their areas of attention, the commissions will consider the processing of the people´s concerns and opinions with the participation of public officials and directives; the performance of the country´s economic plan and budget in the first half of the year; the construction material production and commercialization program, the housing plan and the granting of subsidies and credit lines to the people for home repairs and construction.
Other issues include water resources, the actions against illegalities and social indiscipline and the recycling policy, as well as the new private and cooperative modalities in the areas of catering and services in general; transformations in the transportation field, local initiatives as income sources in the area of tourism and the expansion of information technologies throughout the country.
The implementation of a law on Maritime, River and Lagoon Navigation and its complementary legislation will be also on the agenda of the commission attending to these issues.
