Cuban Customs enforce new regulations



HAVANA, Cuba, April 21 (ACN) Decree-Law No. 108 "On Customs," Decree No. 134 "Regulations of the Decree-Law," and nine supplementary resolutions came into force on April 21 following their publication in Gaceta Oficial No. 7 of January 20, 2026.

The General Customs Office of the Republic announced that the said regulations are part of the process of institutional improvement and updating of the legal framework governing its work pursuant to its state mandate and the constitutional principles, the international standards issued by the World Customs Organization, and applicable foreign trade, tax, and financial regulations.

The new legislation intends to facilitate international trade and meet border security requirements through more streamlined, transparent, and professional procedures.

Cuban Customs officials stated that during the 90 days following publication, a training program was organized based on meetings with the relevant stakeholders and authorities, along with outreach and public awareness campaigns.
