In his address, the Head of State noted that this Thursday, Cuba will receive with honor and glory its compatriots, who fell heroically in defense of the sovereignty of a sister nation.

Díaz-Canel emphasized in his message: "With true Cuban courage, they put the well-armed, cowardly, and illegal kidnappers of the President of Venezuela in check."

The 32 Cubans who died on January 3 were carrying out missions representing the Revolutionary Armed Forces and the Ministry of the Interior, at the request of their counterparts in the South American country.

The President of the Republic of Cuba declared two days of National Mourning, from 6:00 a.m. on January 5th until midnight on January 6th.

This Thursday, the remains of the 32 combatants will be received in Havana with military and popular honors, marking the beginning of a national day of tribute that will culminate with their burial on Friday in their hometowns.

According to a statement from the Revolutionary Government, the fallen compatriots will receive the first posthumous tribute in a military ceremony at José Martí International Airport, and will be transported along Rancho Boyeros Avenue to the headquarters of the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (MINFAR), where a group of people will pay their respects along the route.

From 10:00 a.m. on January 15th, the combatants' remains will be on display at the MINFAR headquarters for public viewing.

On Friday, January 16, at 7:30 a.m., Havana residents will gather at the José Martí Anti-Imperialist Tribune for the ceremony that will kick off a March of the Fighting People.

At 9:00 a.m., commemorative ceremonies will be held in all provincial capitals.

At 4:00 p.m. on January 16, they will be laid to rest in the pantheons of those who fell in defense of their respective localities.
