
Havana, Cuba, January 12 (ACN) Cuban Western, Central, and Eastern Armies began the Year of Preparation for Defense on January 12 with ceremonies that reaffirmed the combat readiness of the Revolutionary Armed Forces and their commitment to protecting national sovereignty, the armed forces reported on their Facebook pages.
The official ceremony was held at the Western Army Headquarters, where officers, combatants, and civilian workers reaffirmed that defending the Homeland is the duty and honor of every citizen.
The Central Army held its ceremony in its corresponding Military Region, with the participation of senior commanders and young combatants, who confirmed their responsibility to strengthen technical and political preparedness for the defense of the country.
Major General Eugenio Armando Rabilero Aguilera, head of the Eastern Army, and Joel Queipo Ruiz, first secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Party in Holguín, led the ceremony in that province along with senior commanders of the Revolutionary Armed Forces and the Ministry of the Interior.
During the activities, officers, young combatants, and civilian workers were decorated with the Distinguished Service Medal in the Revolutionary Armed Forces, in recognition of their accumulated merit in various tasks.
Other participants received membership cards certifying them as members of the Communist Party of Cuba and the Young Communists League, a symbol of trust and revolutionary responsibility.
The ceremonies highlighted the enduring relevance of the doctrine of the War of the Entire People, emphasizing that combat readiness multiplies the armed forces' response capacity in any scenario.
