Havana, Jan 8 (ACN) Cuba recalled on Thursday the January 8th arrival in Havana, 67 years ago, of Fidel Castro heading the Victory Caravan of rebel army fighters.
Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel wrote on X that “we keep being the same brave people in the struggle and the happy people in victory, who fights without giving in, onward to victory ever.
Meanwhile, Cuban Parliament president Esteban Lazo said that revolutionary principles keep fully alive in the defense of the Cuban homeland, its independence and sovereignty.
After departing eastern Santiago de Cuba province and travel throughout the island, Fidel Castro and his rebel army column arrived in the capital Havana on January 8th, 1959 consolidating the triumph of the Cuban Revolution. lc
