HAVANA, Cuba, January 6 (ACN) One hundred years after his birth, the words of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz remain profoundly relevant and constitute an urgent call for equality among nations, as Manuel Marrero Cruz, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Party and Prime Minister of the Republic, reminded us today.
As part of the commemoration, Marrero Cruz shared on X a powerful reflection from the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, which states: "Let the philosophy of plunder disappear, and the philosophy of war will have disappeared! Let colonies disappear, let the exploitation of countries by monopolies disappear, and then humanity will have reached a true stage of progress!"
This thought encapsulates the core of the internationalist and anti-imperialist ideology that has guided Cuba's foreign policy and its tireless struggle for a more just world order.
Fidel Castro warned of the structural roots of conflicts: colonialism, the plundering of resources, and the economic domination exercised by transnational monopolies.
In recalling these words, the Prime Minister reaffirms Cuba's commitment to the principles of sovereignty, self-determination of people, and solidarity-based cooperation—pillars of revolutionary diplomacy—in a global context marked by profound crises, wars of dispossession, and persistent inequalities.
Fidel Castro's message stands as a necessary program for peace and genuine development, for which the peoples of Latin America must reflect upon it, especially given the situation in the sister Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, following the criminal attacks perpetrated by U.S. forces.
The commemoration of the centenary of Fidel's birth is, for Cuba and its friends in the world, a moment to revitalize his legacy and turn the undefeated optimism of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution into a concrete action plan towards the future he dreamed of: a world where social justice and the full dignity of the human being prevail.
