Cuban president Díaz-Canel Leads Act of Solidarity with Venezuela

HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 3 (ACN) Miguel Díaz-Canel, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and President of the Republic, is leading this Saturday morning, at the Anti-Imperialist Platform in Havana, an act to denounce the US attacks against Venezuela, perpetrated in the early hours of today.

Also participating in this act of condemnation are members of the Political Bureau of the PCC Central Committee Esteban Lazo Hernández, President of the National Assembly of People's Power; Manuel Marrero Cruz, Prime Minister; Salvador Valdés Mesa, Vice President of the Republic; Roberto Morales Ojeda, Secretary of Organization of the PCC Central Committee; and Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Minister of Foreign Affairs, among others.

Also present are PCC officials, representatives of the Government, the Foreign Ministry, part of the Venezuelan diplomatic corps accredited in the country, various political and mass organizations, among other entities, and the general citizenry.

Havana residents, representing the Caribbean nation, are gathering today to show their support for the Venezuelan people and to once again reject the hostile policy developed by the US government against Latin America and the Caribbean.

In the early hours of January 3, the Bolivarian state reported on the US military aggression carried out in civilian and military locations in the city of Caracas, the capital of the Republic, and the states of Miranda, Aragua, and La Guaira.

In response to this act, the forces and population of that country have mobilized with the objective of defending national sovereignty.
