Cuba developed automation and mathematics by 2025



HAVANA, Cuba, January 2 (ACN) The staff of the Cuban Institute of Cybernetics, Mathematics and Physics (ICIMAF by its Spanish acronym ) earned nearly 15 million pesos in 2025 for their research, development, and innovation projects, better known by the acronym R&D&I.

This figure is higher than that achieved in 2024 and 2023, reported Elizabeth Rodriguez Quertz, Deputy Director of Research, during a presentation at a meeting to evaluate the results of her administration's work this year on its 10 priority programs.

Also present were guests from the Agency for Nuclear Energy and Advanced Technologies and professors from the University of Havana. Rodríguez Quertz highlighted the publication of studies by the center specialists in national and international journals.

The Cuban institute has participated in national and international events, collaborated with colleagues from the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Germany, Italy, and Colombia, and has 17 agreements with institutions in Mexico, Italy, the Dominican Republic, Spain, Germany, and El Salvador, in addition to receiving 7 visitors.

Its summary included staff training, and awards and recognitions for its social and scientific contributions.
