HAVANA, Cuba, November 25 (ACN) Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, at the opening of the 41st edition of the Havana International Fair (FIHAV 2025), he emphasized the need to build productive and business alliances that contribute to national development, according to sources from the Presidency.
In exclusive statements to national media during the opening day, the president affirmed that holding the event constitutes a demonstration of creative resistance in the face of the intensification of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States.
Diaz-Canel noted that the event, scheduled to run until November 29 at the Expocuba fairgrounds, allows Cuba to showcase its potential and learn about that of other nations, with a view to establishing ties that promote productivity and innovation.
The head of state emphasized that the country faces adversity with creativity and determination, and that the Fair is a space to advance the goal of increasing production and consolidating strategic alliances.
During a tour of several pavilions, the President noted the presence of foreign businesspeople, which he considered a sign of confidence in Cuba, despite the difficulties stemming from the blockade.
He acknowledged that some businesspeople have outstanding commitments to the country, but highlighted their continued presence in the Cuban market as a sign of respect and solidarity, factors that strengthen trade relations.
Diaz-Canel also expressed his gratitude for the participation of Cuban businesspeople residing abroad, who are joining the economic actors that contribute to building socialism under the current conditions.
FIHAV 2025, considered Cuba's main trade fair, brings together representatives from various sectors and provides a space for economic exchange and the search for investment opportunities.
