French solidarity organizations coordinate initiatives in support of Cuba

HAVANA, Cuba, November 6 (ACN) Solidarity associations, political forces, and French groups held meeting at the Cuban Embassy to Paris to coordinate initiatives to support Cuban communities affected by Hurricane Melissa.

According to the official website of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a video documenting the main damage caused by the hurricane was shown, as well as the efforts of the Cuban government and state to safeguard lives and address the urgent needs of the population.

Otto Vaillant Frias, Cuba's ambassador to France, provided an update on the extent of the damage and the actions taken to rebuild homes, restore basic services, and assist affected families.

The text emphasizes that the participants expressed their support for the Cuban people and announced the launch of campaigns to collect material and financial resources, as well as to promote initiatives that will help alleviate the damage in the hardest-hit areas.

This gesture, attendees agreed, is a sign of affection and recognition of the resilience and organizational capacity of the Cuban people, who face the consequences of adverse natural events with dignity.

Vaillant Frias expressed his gratitude for the expressions of solidarity and emphasized that, despite the limitations imposed by the economic, commercial, and financial blockade, Cuba continues to mobilize resources and strengthen international cooperation to protect its population.
