Operation Walk Returns to Cuba

HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 4 (ACN) The international humanitarian organization Operation Walk, which provides free surgeries to patients with joint conditions, has returned to Cuba, with 70 people set to benefit.

The Ministry of Public Health reported that at the Fructuoso Rodríguez Orthopedic Teaching Hospital, from October 31 to November 5, a group of international specialists is performing the surgeries and giving master lectures to exchange knowledge with Cuban professionals.

This initiative has transformed the lives of hundreds of patients over the years, reaffirming the role of international cooperation in health.

Operation Walk is a medical-humanitarian volunteer organization that offers the possibility of regaining mobility through joint replacement surgeries, at no cost to those in need in the United States and around the world.

This generates a lasting contribution to healthcare in developing countries, and to date, they have treated over 17,000 patients from 25 countries; in their previous visits to Cuba, they have performed more than 500 joint replacements.
