HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 15 (ACN) To reaffirm the stated commitment between both parties, the 2nd edition of the exchange program between the Cuban Young Communists League (UJC by its Spanish acronym) and its counterpart in Vietnam began today in Havana, with a day of activities and meetings between the two organizations.
The exchange agenda includes meetings with student organizations, youth movements, and the UJC provincial committee in the capital, as well as academic, cultural, and sports activities, within the framework of the implementation and updating of the cooperation agreement signed in 2023.
This agreement allows for spaces for scientific exchange, joint projects, and collaboration in the promotion of sports, culture, and youth internationalization.
On this occasion, a delegation from Ho Chi Minh City is visiting Cuba in a special context, marked by the recent visit of the Cuban president to Vietnam, the 65th anniversary of the Vietnamese victory, and the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
Raul Alejandro Palmero Fernandez, first secretary of the UJC Provincial Committee in Havana, explained that during the opening day, a tribute was paid to the emblematic leaders Ho Chi Minh and Jose Marti, a symbolism that reinforces the historical ties and affinity between Cuban and Vietnamese youth.
An expanded working session will also be held to review compliance and update the agreements, as well as to define the joint agenda for 2025 and 2026.
The program seeks to strengthen the exchange of political, organizational, communication, and youth entrepreneurship experiences, highlighting both Vietnam's innovative methods and Cuba's rich revolutionary and resistance tradition, Palmero Fernandez noted.
Some of the highlights include the Vietnamese business system, which supports the sustainability of youth organizations, as well as the Cuban experience in universities, scientific centers, and cultural centers, which contribute to enriching the bond between the two youth groups.
For his part, Nguyen Thanh Lam, a member of the young asociation's standing committee in Ho Chi Minh City, expressed that this visit is expected to further strengthen relations of unity in social spheres, and that the cultural and organizational exchange program reaffirms the spirit of brotherhood between the two countries.
As an act of solidarity, the main objective of the Vietnamese youth's stay in Cuba is to strengthen cooperation and expand the possibilities for mutual growth for new generations, cementing a common future based on shared history, solidarity, and victory, despite adversity and geographical distance.
This program reaffirms the shared will of both youth groups to continue building a future of cooperation, solidarity, and joint development, inspired by their deep historical roots and revolutionary commitment.
