HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 5 (ACN) A press release from the Attorney General's Office reported on the ongoing investigations to clarify the circumstances, causes, and evidence surrounding the mass hit-and-run incident perpetrated by a foreign citizen residing in Cuba.
This incident occurred in two municipalities of Havana in the early hours of August 25, leaving one person dead and eight others injured.

The Attorney General's Office is overseeing the criminal proceedings being conducted by the Ministry of the Interior to investigate murder and other crimes.
The case in which Mario Pontolillo, a 56-year-old Italian citizen with permanent residence in Cuba, is charged.He is under preventive detention and is prohibited from leaving the country.
The deliberate car crash that occurred in the early hours of August 25th on public roads in the municipalities of Centro Habana and Old Havana in the capital, which resulted in the death of a woman, injuries to several people, and disruption to public safety, is being investigated.
Investigative proceedings are being conducted to provide evidence and complete the investigation.
With respect for the rights and guarantees enshrined in the Constitution and the laws, the Prosecutor's Office will pursue public criminal proceedings before the Court for trial, requesting sanctions commensurate with the seriousness of the events and the circumstances in which they occurred, a matter that will be reported in due course.
