Foreign Minister praises friendship between Cuba and Belarus

HAVANA, Cuba, August 24 (ACN) In a post on X, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla highlighted the brotherhood between his country and Belarus, made evident in the solidarity received from the European nation, and thanked the Belarusian government and people for a donation of medicines and foods destined for local hospitals.

Received last Wednesday by the Cuban Institute of Hematology and Immunology (IHI), the said supplies, which include biostimulants for the immune system, medicines to treat leukemia and hypertension, and pills to control bleeding and nervous disorders, will be distributed to 27 healthcare centers across the country.

“For our health workers, these boxes contain much more than just medicines and food, as they are a token of hope, a relief, and a powerful message of support and solidarity”, said IHI director Wilfredo Roque García.

At the reception ceremony, Vitali Barvchuk, Belarusian ambassador to Cuba, recalled that the Caribbean nation welcomed people affected by the Chernobyl nuclear accident.
