HAVANA, Cuba, August 11 (ACN) Organized by the San Cristobal Travel Agency (AVSC by its Spanish acronym), the 1st International Historical-Heritage Tourism Event, "Loyal to Heritage," to be held in Cuba November 11 to 16.
This event is aimed at tour operators, travel agencies, and all those committed to preserving cultural heritage.
In this first edition, the program of activities will focus on three heritage cities: Havana, Matanzas, and Trinidad. The legitimate purpose is to pay tribute to the eternal historian PhD. Eusebio Leal Spengler and celebrate the 506th anniversary of the founding of the former Villa San Cristobal de La Habana and the 30th anniversary of the agency.
"Loyal to Heritage" will also promote Cuba as a Living Heritage destination worldwide, while showcasing the high value of cities that have earned UNESCO World Heritage status.
Likewise, it will provide an opportunity to discuss the need to preserve the history and culture of people, as well as the conservation of their monuments for future generations.
The sessions to be held in the Cuban capital will address colonial architecture; while in Matanzas, a conference on the Route of the Enslaved will be held, concluding with a specialized tour led by Guamacaro's Tour. Trinidad will also focus its analysis on the conservation of tangible and intangible heritage.
The event will be officially opened on November 12 in the Aula Magna of the San Geronimo University College,and the welcoming remarks will be delivered by architect Perla Rosales Aguirreurreta, Deputy Director General of the Historian's Office.
