HAVANA, Cuba, August 4 (ACN) All of Cuba's eastern provinces have at least one train connecting them to another territory in the region, confirmed Ana Delma Perez Acosta, general director of the Eastern Railway Company (EFO by its Spanish acronym), according to the Granma newspaper.
Perez Acosta specified that local services are also offered, mainly with railcars and railbuses.
Perez Acosta announced that the EFO plans to incorporate new routes, "even beyond the eastern region." She clarified that these plans depend on the availability of rolling stock and fuel.
The company will increase the frequency and routes of intra- and inter-municipal railbuses in Holguin, Santiago de Cuba, and Guantanamo, the director added.
National trains continue departing every four days to and from Havana with adjusted schedules. Special services implemented for the summer season will also be maintained.
