HAVANA, Cuba, August 4 (ACN) The Institute of Meteorology's Forecast Center announced the formation of Tropical Storm Dexter in the low pressure area located over the western Atlantic Ocean, east of North Carolina, US.
It continued gaining organization and intensity, becoming the fourth of the current season.The central region of the system was located Sunday night at 34.3 degrees north and 69.4 degrees west, 480 kilometers west-southwest of Bermuda, according to the institution's Tropical Cyclone Advisory No. 1.
It added that it has maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour with higher gusts, the central pressure is 1002 hectopascals, and it is currently moving east-northeast at 19 kilometers per hour.
In the next 12 to 24 hours, it will gain organization and intensity and continue on a similar path and increasing its speed over open waters of the Atlantic Ocean.
It poses no danger to Cuba, it said, adding that his next advisory on the matter will be issued at six o'clock Monday evening.
