Cuba reasserts zero tolerance policy on human trafficking

HAVANA, Cuba, July 30 (ACN) In a post on X on the occasion of the World Day against Trafficking in Persons, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs, reiterated that his country maintains a zero tolerance policy on all forms of this scourge and works tirelessly to prevent its occurrence through coordinated action with civil society organizations.

According to the most recent report on the prevention of and fight against this crime, Cuba carries out collaborative steps and shares information with international organizations such as Interpol, the United Nations system, and its counterparts in the region and Europe.

The document also refers to the specialized care provided to both the victims and vulnerable people, particularly children, women, senior citizens, and disabled persons.

Likewise, the text highlights that Cuba boasts a low crime rate in this respect thanks to the preventive and countermeasure actions implemented by the State, as well as to the absence of organized criminal networks in the country.
