HAVANA, Cuba, July 30 (ACN) A new methodology embraced by the National Certification System for Scientific Journals includes a repository under development in cooperation with AmeliCA, a Mexican collaborative initiative intended to promote the development of Open Science based on a scientific communication model of a non-profit scholarly nature.
The current format responds to the need for improvement through annual calls for authors to submit applications, according to Dr. Ricardo Casate Fernández, Director of Strategic Programs and Projects at the Ministry of Science, Technology and the Environment (CITMA).
Cuba boasts 242 scientific journals, most of them issued by the Ministries of Higher Education and Public Health.
AmeliCA emerged in 2018 as an initiative stemming from the experience of the Scientific Information System Network (Redalyc) in Latin America and the Global South.
