China will always Stand by Cuba

Havana, July 23 (ACN) China’s ambassador to Cuba Hua Xin said that his country will always support Cuba as he denounced the US economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by Washington against the island nation for over 60 years now.

China will keep opposing the US tightening of sanctions against Cuba, the ambassador noted and went on to recall the founding of the People’s Liberation Army of China.

During a ceremony held here to mark the 98th year of the founding of People’s Liberation Army of China, which was attended by Cuban army corps generals Alvaro Lopez Miera, Cuban Defense Minister, and Lazaro Alvarez Casas, Interior Minister, the Chinese diplomat congratulated the Cuban people for National Rebellion Day, next July 26.

In the presence of Cuba’s Foreign Ministry officials and high-ranking military officers, Hua Xin recalled the historic bonds uniting China and Cuba. He said the island was the first country in Latin America to establish diplomatic relations with China 65 years ago.

The ceremony acknowledged the work of First Colonel Luo Tiefeng, military attache at the Chinese embassy in Cuba, who concluded his mission here.

The high-ranking officer thanked Cuban authorities for their support of his work and stressed the excellent relations between the armed forces of the two countries, based on mutual respect and cooperation.
