Havana, July 15 (ACN) The Jose Marti Solidarity-with-Cuba brigade, made up of 54 activists from 10 European countries are already in Cuba, where they will join the local people at celebrations for National Rebellion Day on July 26th.
The friends of Cuba, mostly young women and men, come from Italy, Russia, France, Spain, Austria, Portugal, Germany, the U.K., Irland and Belgium. They will stay here for about 15 days to visit different places of cultural interest.
The activists’ agenda includes a visit to the Fidel Castro Center in Havana; the Memorial treasuring the moral remains of Ernesto Che Guevara and his companions in the central city of Santa Clara; the will also tour the central province of Sancti Spiritus and will do voluntary work in agriculture. The group will attend lectures on the impact by the US blockade on the Cuban people and on current media campaigns against the Cuban Revolution.
The Jose Marti brigade is one of the groups with the international solidarity-with-Cuba movement to attend July 26 national celebrations at the central province of Ciego de Avila. Other groups include the US-based Venceremos Brigade and the Latin American and Caribbean brigade, along with the Brazilian Caravan. They all will express their support of the Cuban socialist system and their rejection of the US hostile policy against the island nation.lc
