HAVANA, Cuba, Jul 15 (ACN) Members of the Permanent Commission for Service Assistance of the National Assembly of People's Power discussed airport services in the country and ways to improve this management.
At the Havana Convention Center, where the committee work is taking place previous to the 5th Ordinary Session of the highest state body in its 10th Legislature, the evaluation report was presented, detailing the current situation of this fundamental sector within the transportation sector.
Ailyn Febles Estrada, vice president of the commission, explained that of the country's 22 civil airports, 19 were visited, 10 of them international and nine domestic, to check the condition of the facilities and runways.
Febles Estrada, who is also Vice Minister of Communications, noted that not all domestic airports have favorable conditions for air traffic, while international airports are in better condition, despite some shortcomings.
She also noted that during the tours, concerns from the public regarding hygiene and the food offerings were addressed.
