Cuban children travel again to Russian center

HAVANA, Cuba, July 13 (ACN) After 30 years, a group of Cuban kids will travel to the Russian Children’s Center Orlyonok, in the region of Krasnodar, according to the camp's director, Alexander Dzheus.

"Cooperation with the Republic of Cuba was recently resumed, and 25 children will come with their mentors. After a hiatus of nearly 30 years, we are renewing our cooperation with Cuba," Mr. Dzheus told reporters covering the celebrations of Orlyonok's 65th anniversary.

The International Center is an educational camp for children aged 11-16 located on the shore of the Black Sea, in the region of Krasnodar, 45 kilometers from the city of Tuapse.

A member of the International Camping Fellowship and the National Camp Association admitted to the UNESCO Associated Schools Project Network in 2012, Orlyonok’s 10 camps accommodate 1,500 children in the winter and more than 3,500 in the summer.
