HAVANA, Cuba, July 9 (ACN) The Portugal-Cuba Friendship Association (AAPC) condemned the recent anti-Cuban measures announced by the United States government to reinforce the economic siege to the island, the Foreign Ministry reported on its website.
A statement issued by the AAPC decries the U.S. Cuba policy and denounces the criminal 60-plus-year-old blockade and the inclusion of Cuba in the list of alleged state sponsors of terrorism, on the basis that Cuba has the right to protect its sovereignty and choose its own system without foreign interference or aggression.
The text notes the efforts of the Solidarity Campaign "For Cuba, End the Blockade!" endorsed by dozens of organizations and which gives voice to the resistance of the heroic Cuban people, calling the Portuguese people to strengthen their support for and solidarity with Cuba.
The AAPC remarks that the Trump administration's new measures are a revised version of its original June 2017 memorandum to step up aggressive policies intended to bring more pressure to bear on Cuba and to meddle in its internal affairs, to the detriment of its national economy and the availability of basic goods.
