Cuba and Vietnam ratified their willingness to strengthen bilateral ties



HAVANA, Cuba, Jul 8 (ACN) Cuban president Miguel Diaz-Canel expressed his satisfaction with the exchange with Vietnamese PM Pham Minh Chinh in the context of the BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro.

We reviewed the excellent state of economic, trade, and cooperation relations, the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba stated on X.

He added that during the meeting, he extended warm greetings to Comrade To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Cuban Presidency posted on the same social media that Diaz-Canel celebrated Vietnam's incorporation as a partner country in the BRICS mechanism at the meeting, a fact he described as a source of shared pride given the historic friendship between the two nations.

"It is a great pleasure to see you here in Brazil," the Cuban president expressed, highlighting the significance of this moment for the Asian nation and for the countries of the South.

Díaz-Canel expressed his gratitude for the ongoing solidarity of the Vietnamese government, Party, and people toward his country, as well as their willingness to support Cuba in the search for solutions to current challenges.

In this regard, he highlighted Hanoi's sensitivity and commitment to the Cuban people.

The two leaders reviewed the main cooperation projects underway, with an emphasis on key sectors such as rice production, renewable energy sources, and biotechnology, areas in which concrete and sustainable results have been achieved.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh reiterated his country's unconditional support for the largest of the Antilles, while sending warm greetings to Army General Raul Castro Ruz and the sisterly Cuban people.
