Cuban Communist Party Forum Addressing Crucial Society Issues



Havana, July 4 (ACN) Headed by the First Secretary of Cuba’s Communist Party Central Committee and Cuban President, Miguel Diaz Canel, the 10th Plenary Meeting of the political organization is considering crucial issues for Cuban society.

In his opening remarks of the forum on Friday, July 4th, the Communist Party Organization secretary Roberto Morales said that Cuba is undergoing one of the most complex stages in its history, according to the Cuban Presidency’s X account.

Morales said that Cubans are experiencing times of challenges, of prolonged and tightened US policy of blockade, of economic difficulties and foreign pressure. These factors aim at weakening the spirit of the people who have repeatedly proven their capacity to resist and their dignity.

The Cuban Communist Party X message explained that the session elected via cooptation as members to the top Political body, division general Raul Villar, brigadier general Oscar Callejas, and the vice-president of the Cuban Union of Writers and Artists Magda Resik.

On its last day, Saturday, the forum’s agenda includes vital issues relevant to the country’s economy and society with high impact on the people, such as the plan to stabilize the national power system and food production.

Also high on the agenda is the Cuban Governmental Program to correct distortions and boost the performance of the local economy, as well as the consideration of the Party’s policy of cadres approved by the 2nd Plenary Session to be enforced from 2021 to 2026.
