HAVANA, Cuba, July 4 (ACN) Cuban foreign minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla expressed his gratitude on X, for the support of the Mexican President and highlighted the nation's ongoing denunciation of US policy, which has harmed the Cuban people for more than six decades.
In his message, Cuban diplomat reiterated that the blockade constitutes the main obstacle to the Caribbean nation's development and valued the support of governments and peoples, like Mexico's, who speak out in favor of respect for the sovereignty and self-determination of their nations.
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum reaffirmed her country's longstanding stance against the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba, a policy she described as unacceptable and contrary to the principles of solidarity among people.
In recent statements, Sheinbaum emphasized that Mexico has voted against the blockade in the United Nations General Assembly for decades, and that this position has been consistently maintained, regardless of the political leanings of Mexican governments.
"Some more, some less, but it has held true and that will always be our position," the president stated on social media.
