Cuban event evokes Fidel and Chavez as creators of the tourism project

HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 27 (ACN) More than promoters, Commanders Fidel Castro Ruz and Hugo Rafael Chavez Frias were architects of a travel philosophy that transformed the Caribbean from an archipelago of isolated destinations to a tapestry woven with solidarity threads.

Oscar Henriquez Diaz, senior specialist at the General Marketing Directorate of the Cuban Ministry of Tourism, explained in a press statement that the multi-destination program stems from the extraordinary vision of these leaders, who also led the creation of the Bolivarian Alternatives for the Americas (ALBA).

During the 1rst Multi-Destination Forum Cuba 2025, which concludes today at the Meliá Cohiba hotel in Havana, he emphasized the importance of these factors in uncovering the region's potential to enhance tourism in each destination.

Henriquez Diaz stated that this modality enhances the value of the product for a traveler who comes for a specific period to enjoy the Caribbean and get to know more than one country.

Regarding the forum, he highlighted its importance in strengthening elements such as air connectivity, transportation, and the hotel and non-hotel network, taking advantage of all the advantages that the destination has developed.

In general, the meeting was held to define tourist packages with their respective prices, ensuring they are acceptable for an intraregional or interregional traveler, he specified.

The aim is also to share with clients the benefits and heritage of these countries, whose common denominator is the sun and the beach, but each has traditional elements that characterize them, Cuban tourism official noted.

The 1rst Multi-Destination Forum Cuba 2025 was born as a result of several preceding meetings and has been attended by various tourism stakeholders in the country, as well as colleagues from Venezuela and Honduras.
