HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 4 (ACN) Esteban Lazo Hernandez, president of the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba, and Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, president of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran, signed a Memorandum of Understanding intended to bolster bilateral ties.
At the welcoming ceremony, Lazo Hernández praised the importance of the high-level political dialogue and the historic ties between Cuba and Iran, initiated by the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, as well as Iran’s firm stance against the U.S. blockade of the island.
Mr. Bagher Ghalibaf, who is paying an official visit to Cuba, referred to the island's permanent solidarity with the cause of the Palestinian people and advocated increased cooperation between the legislative bodies of both countries for the benefit of their respective peoples.
