Cuban Journalists Mark Raul Castro 94th Birthday

 

Havana, June 3 (ACN) On the 94th birthday of Cuban Revolution Leader, Army General Raul Castro, journalists in eastern Santiago de Cuba city recalled his legacy.

In today’s complex times, Raul represents trust in a revolution made for all Cubans, said the president of the Journalists’ Association in Santiago, Victor Hugo Leyva.

Raul is the link between the dreamed of and conquered revolution, the times of struggle by the Rebel Army on the mountains and the events that have taken place over the past 60 years; this entails the need for his leadership today.

Radio Havana Cuba International radio station’s correspondent Jose Emilio Oliveros said that Santiago is very important for Raul, because this city embraced him and his brother when they were young and later witnessed his political maturity after the attack against the Moncada barracks in 1953.

Raul led, along Fidel Castro, the Cuban Revolution, a social system based on justice and equity. Raul represents the resistance and braveness of the Cuban people.
