SANTIAGO DE CUBA, Cuba, Jun 3 (ACN) In order to systematize knowledge and standardize good practices, the Regional Workshop on Family Right processes was held today in Santiago de Cuba, convened by the People's Supreme Court (TSP by its Spanish acronym), as part of the day for the Legal Worker's Day.
Talking about this topic on the date when the birthday of Army General Raul Castro Ruz is celebrated, is also to recognize his mark together with our beloved Fidel in all the social works that for years have strengthened the genuine values of the fundamental cells of society, said Yipsy Pedreira Rodriguez, president of the Provincial People's Tribunal.
Yomays Olivares, president of the Civil, Family and Administrative Chamber of the TSP, commented that family workshops are not new for the Cuban judiciary, this one has the particularity that it takes place almost three years after the entry into force of the Family Code (2022) and there have been many issues that have been processed by the country's courts.
The aim is to discuss, deepen and establish guidelines to address issues related to violence in the family, protection of the elderly, guardianship and care of children and adolescents, among other issues, he said.
According to Olivares, other topics in the exchange were people in situations of violence in the family environment, an element to which attention must be paid, to regulate how to approach it and face it from the interdisciplinary point of view, and the presence of private international law in family debates, because the mobility of Cubans and the existence of fathers and mothers in different countries is undeniable.
Farah Saucedo Perez, vice president of the TSP, Elena Castillo, secretary general of the Cuban Women's Federation in the province, magistrates of the Civil, Family and Administrative Chambers of the TSP, Ladins Ricardo Soria, chief prosecutor of the Family Protection and Jurisdictional Affairs Department, Giselia Sabala Quesada, head of the multidisciplinary team in Santiago de Cuba, as well as judges of the specialty from Holguin, Las Tunas, Granma and Guantanamo were present at the workshop.
